Wairarapa Cycling, Farmers on tour! - 8 Days

Get off the farm and onto your bikes for a week (or discover your inner farmer). This itinerary takes you into back country Waiararapa. We have exclusive access to farms and farmers across the region. We make time to meet landowners so you can have a chat with them about what drives the and how they manage their properties.  You will also go into the most beautiful environment. we complete part of the remtaka Cycle Trail, epic coastal trails, quiet back country gravel roads and visit New Zealands most remote sex shop (really! It is not compulsory though).

We stop at remote beaches, famous beaches, country pubs and lodges as well as staying in hotels and enjoying great cuisine.

Join us with your mates, get a group together and book a private tour. Either way it is an unforgettable adventure.

How fit do I need to be?

Well, it depends if you are on an electric assist bike. Average to good fitness will be required for this ride. we ride approximately 50km/day.

What grade is the riding?

The riding surfaces are very mixed, there are some short steep sections on both ascent and descent, we ride on Rail trail, gravel road, a little bit of easy single track and high quality farm roads.

The riding is not technically challenging but does require a reasonable level of competence at times.

What is the ideal bike for this tour?

A hardtail mountain bike, gravel bike or electric assist bike will suit this tour. If you wish we are happy to rent you the right bike for the job.

What if I am travelling alone?

We have an additional charge for single rooms. Talk to us about your preferred arrangement. If you are travelling with a group who are well known to you you may be happy to share a room for 3 pax.

Is there a more beautiful and varied cycle tour in New Zealand?

We on’t think so. You are going to experience something quite wonderful and meet some real characters behind the scenes.

Is this guided?

This is a supported trip. In our terms, this means that you will have a driver guide, not a rider guide. This person looks after your daily needs including food, mechanics and shuttling.
