When you join Green Jersey for a wine tour you expect something a little extraordinary. We don’t take ourselves too seriously but we definitely take our wine seriously. Our guides work in the industry and play in the industry.
We get amongst it, visiting the small producers, meeting the makers and talking about what makes Martinborough one of the top wee wine producing regions in the world. Yes you could take a bus or minivan (ask us if that is your preference) but we can guarantee you will have more fun on a bike. If you are not a rider, let us carry you on the back of a cycle rickshaw, luxury while still enjoying the wind in your hair!
Our full day Guided Wine and Vine tour is the best value in town, it includes visits to three cellar doors and an olive grove where they produce exquisite infused oils. The Cellar Doors we visit are carefully selected to offer a diverse slice of the Martinborough Terroir. We enjoy a relaxed lunch among the vines and will be able to answer any questions you have about the wine and it’s production. It is not unusual to meet the makers when we visit each vineyard.
Our introduction to Martinborough takes in the first two hours of the full day tour before participants are released to explore the town by themselves or head back to town and return their bikes. This is ideal if you are limited by time! During the introduction to Martinborough we will visit two cellar doors.
Ride independently with the Martinborough Picnic and Pedal, we take care of your lunch, we take care of your bicycle, you just take care of where you would like to explore during the day. Perhaps you just want to ride into the countryside, this is a great option for you.
If you are travelling from Wellington for the day, hop aboard one of our shuttles to Martinborough, departing Wellington at 9.15am, then departing Martinborough at 5.45 pm, this is the best/reliable way to get a full day in this beautiful wine village. You can add shuttles during the booking process.

Note: Our tours are not weather dependent, in case of bad weather we (reluctantly) replace bikes with buses!
