Green Jersey, your gateway to unforgettable cycling adventures in the heart of New Zealand's Wairarapa region. A cherished family-owned enterprise, our roots trace back to 2010 when Stuart Edwards and Lucia Zanmonti first envisioned a boutique cycle tour experience. Joined by Joe and Pam Howells in 2013, we embarked on a journey of growth and shared passion for cycling exploration. Stuart's leadership paved the way for over a decade until his retirement in 2023, passing the reins to Pam, Joe, and their son James, our dedicated General Manager.

In the Tour de France four cyclists get awarded specific-coloured jerseys. These colours include yellow (maillot jaune), green (maillot vert), red polka dots (maillot à pois rouges), and white (maillot blanc), and each one of these jerseys has its own meaning and importance. The Green Jersey is known as the “sprinter’s jersey,” because the Green Jersey goes to the leader of the Points Classification throughout the race. So ultimately, the Green Jersey goes to a well-rounded and consistent rider, as well as to those who show tremendous persistence, picking up points where they can. (Thanks Wikipedia) That about sums up the attitude of our Green Jersey Team. Stuart and Lucia chose the name back at the start in 2010 because of this significant “Green Jersey” heritage and also because we aspire to be as “green” as we can in terms of our impact on the environment.
