We ride “hub and spoke” on various sections of the Hauraki Rail Trail, Waikato River Trail and Te Araahi Trail.Riding itinerary will be somewhat driven by the weather, but expect to start riding when the frosts have cleared and finish with a dip in hot bathes. | Turakina Valley | Tuesday 27th- Wednesday 28th September | Turakina Valley (2 days/1 night) We drive up to Ohakune with a ride on the way up (weather dependant) and stay the night. Day 2 – we cycle from Tangiwai to Turakina, following the Turakina Valley Road (a mix of Gravel and Tar) for up to 106km. The gradient is an epic downhill for most of the way between the central plateau and nearly to the sea.Accommodation: Top 10 Holiday Park, Ohakune |
