However, adventure seekers will find their hearts racing as they navigate a few kilometers of gravel road from Mangatoetoe to the Lighthouse. And speaking of the Lighthouse, it’s not just a scenic landmark; it’s an opportunity for an exhilarating challenge. With 253 steps to conquer, reaching the top is a rewarding feat, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the coast.
Wildlife Encounters: A Sea Lion Sanctuary
Our journey also included a visit to the Sea Lion breeding colony, home to the New Zealand Fur Seal. It’s a highlight for all who venture out here, a chance to observe these remarkable creatures in their natural habitat. The Return Journey and Well-Deserved Refreshments
After our adventure, we were met by the Green Jersey shuttle, which whisked us back to Martinborough. It was a journey made all the sweeter by the anticipation of a refreshing beer waiting for us at the Lighthouse. What better way to conclude a day of adventure and exploration?
